It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) announces the untimely passing of Dr. Sarah Chilungo Musoke, who until her passing was a valued member of staff in the Department of Physics and Biochemical Sciences.
Dr. Musoke joined MUBAS on 29th July 2024 as a Lecturer, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of Food Legislation. Despite her relatively short time with the university, she made a meaningful and lasting impact through her passion for teaching, her dedication to academic excellence, and her unwavering commitment to mentoring students and colleagues alike.
Dr. Musoke’s work extended beyond the classroom—her insights into food safety regulations and policy shaped discourse both locally and internationally. She was a strong advocate for evidence-based approaches to food system governance and was respected for her sharp intellect, her integrity, and her deep sense of responsibility toward the communities she served.
Her sudden departure is a significant loss not only to MUBAS but to the broader academic and professional community. We mourn the loss of a colleague, a mentor, a friend, and a visionary scholar.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with or learning from her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
