It is with deep sorrow that the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) announces the passing of Ms. Catherine Mvula, a first year ODeL student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems.
Catherine tragically passed away on 22nd August 2026 following a road traffic accident in the vicinity of Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH), Blantyre.
At the time of her passing, Catherine was a valued member of the MUBAS student community, pursuing her studies through the Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) programme. Her journey at MUBAS represented her aspirations for academic growth, personal development and a brighter future.
Her untimely passing is a profound loss to her family, friends, fellow students, lecturers and the entire MUBAS community.
The MUBAS community extends its deepest condolences to Catherine’s family, friends, classmates and all who mourn her loss.
